Matcha Tea:
Matcha is a type of green tea made by picking freshly grown tea leaves and grinding them into matcha (the literal meaning of matcha is green tea powder).

Matcha Grades:
1. Imperial Grade:
Composed of Samidori and Okumidori varieties, harvested in the spring.
For Imperial Grade, the leaves are picked from the top two leaves and a bud of the Samidori and Okumidori tea plant.
2. Deluxe Ceremonial Grade:
For Deluxe Ceremonial Grade, the leaves are harvested in the spring.
The leaves are selected from the top of the plant, and each bud is picked from the tea plant.
3. Ceremonial Grade:
For Ceremonial Grade, the leaves are harvested in the spring and summer.
The leaves are selected from the top of the plant.
4. Cooking Grade:
For Cooking Grade, the leaves are harvested in the summer and autumn.
The leaves are selected from the bottom of the tea plant.
